Bradken has officially inaugurated its new state-of-the-art mill liner foundry in Chilca, Peru, marking a major milestone in the company's continued investment in Latin America and reinforcing its commitment to supporting the region's growing mining industry.
More than 140 customers, industry partners and stakeholders joined Bradken to celebrate the opening, alongside 10 distinguished dignitaries, including His Excellency James Yeomans, Australian Ambassador to Peru, and His Excellency Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, Ambassador of Japan to Peru. The event also welcomed senior executives from Hitachi Construction Machinery, including Mr. Kotaro Hirano, Representative Executive Officer, Chairman, Executive Officer and Director, and Chief Executive Officer, who joined Sean Winstone, Bradken Chief Executive Officer, in officially opening the facility.
"Quite simply, this is the best foundry Bradken has ever built," Mr Winstone said.
"Bradken began more than 100 years ago with the promise of providing innovative and reliable steel casting solutions.
"Today, as the world transitions towards a more sustainable future, Latin America will play a critical role in supplying the metals and minerals needed to make that transition possible.
"We have built what we believe is the most modern and efficient foundry in the world, positioning Bradken and our customers to meet that future together."
Following the official ceremony, guests toured the foundry, experiencing its advanced automation, digitalisation and quality control systems. The tour showcased the region's largest automated loop line, Peru's first scrap charging feeders, advanced sand reclamation technology, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and fully electric heat-treatment ovens, demonstrating how Bradken is delivering safer, more efficient and sustainable manufacturing.
The inauguration also highlighted Bradken's commitment to creating long-term value for Peru's workforce and communities. The Chilca Foundry is expected to create approximately 200 direct jobs and more than 1,200 indirect jobs, supporting long-term regional economic growth. Women currently represent more than 30 per cent of employees at the facility, reflecting Bradken's ongoing commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
The official opening marks a significant new chapter for Bradken in Latin America, bringing world-class manufacturing capability closer to customers while reinforcing the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability and supporting the future growth of mining across the region.

Chilca foundry facts
The new foundry significantly strengthens Bradken's regional manufacturing capability, enhances supply chain resilience and enables faster delivery of high-quality mill liners to mining customers throughout Latin America.
Located in Chilca, Peru, the foundry will primarily support customers across Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Suriname, Ecuador and Mexico, significantly improving speed, responsiveness and supply certainty. Within the next three to five years, the facility is expected to supply the majority of Bradken's mill liner requirements across Latin America.
Sustainability is a key focus area. The foundry supports Bradken's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, with more than 99% of electricity used at site, to come from renewable sources. It has also been designed to recycle worn mill liners, recovering valuable materials and reintegrating them into new products wherever technically feasible, supporting both resource efficiency and the circular economy.
Combined with Bradken’s innovative designs and high-quality manufacturing, this enables Bradken to improve its customers' performance while helping them achieve their own sustainability goals.
