We work in an industry with hard-to-abate greenhouse gas emissions. Our foundries are high energy consumers, using heat processes of more than 1,500 degrees celsius every day.
‘Challenge’ is one of Bradken’s core values, and we truly embraced the spirit of it in 2022 when we made decarbonisation a strategic focus and project CN2030 (Carbon Neutral by 2030) was formed.
CN2030 is globally embedded in the business. A dedicated CN2030 team works with our foundries and engineering sites to help reduce our carbon footprint and eliminate emissions at the source.

To provide a more precise roadmap, we re-baselined in 2025 using 2018 data and improved our emission forecast accuracy based on actual production projections. This updated model is what we’re now using to set realistic targets and measure progress.
While still clear and direct, our strategic decarbonisation roadmap is dynamic and we will continue to update the model as technology improves and renewable electricity becomes more readily available in the regions that we operate.
Our latest modelling accounts for our new state-of-the-art, energy efficient foundry in Peru which will use almost 100% renewable electricity.
