Bradken takes a long-term proactive approach to the improvement of its facilities and manufacturing processes in order to protect the varied environments in which we operate.

Bradken's operations are subject to environmental laws and regulations governing, amongst other things:

  • energy and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions
  • noise
  • air emissions, and
  • the use, handling and disposal of hazardous substances and waste products.

The company operates a group wide Environmental Management System (EMS), which complies with the International Environmental Standard ISO 14001. It is Bradken's policy and objective to be environmentally proactive, to adopt practices that minimise adverse environmental impacts and to communicate our environmental performance with all stakeholders.

In accordance with Bradken's environmental policy a number of group-wide procedures and goals have been established to ensure consistent performance across all sites:

  • all manufacturing and engineering sites to have developed and implemented an EMS meeting the requirements of ISO 14001
  • site EMS to be integrated with the existing business systems and maintained appropriately
  • zero notifiable incidents and zero justified neighbourhood complaints
  • continued reduction of industrial waste disposal costs through ongoing improvement of work practices 
  • continued reduction in the use of energy, water and other resources
